Oh Advil...

This porch renovation is turning into something else, alright. My hands are cramped so much I can barely type and my shoulders are already sore...but it is awfully fun swinging a sledgehammer into a cemented brick wall. :)
In running news, I managed to shave nearly a minute off of my 4-mile run yesterday, 37:28. AND, according to Google Earth, it might actually be more like 4.2 miles. Lo and behold! I still want to verify it with the GPS at some point but, for now, I'll enjoy thinking it's 4.2. This morning I opted for the shorter 2.6 route before work because I was running a bit late. Finished in 24:27, which I think is my fastest yet for that route :) woohoo! I know it's technically pretty slow, but I'm still proud. If I can keep making progress, I'm psyched for the marathon in October. Just have to keep at it.
Still a bit apprehensive for the half-marathon on the 24th. I really hope the weather is good. And, I am most grateful to my hubby and best friends who will be in attendance to cheer me on :) I live for praise...haha. I really want to hit 2 hours, which means I'll have to be running I think around 9:05. Not sure I can hold that for that distance this early in my training game, but I'm hoping I can push myself and try for it. One thing I'm usually good at is pacing myself. However, I've been pushing myself a lot more for speed in my training runs, so I'll have to remember to pace myself well early on so that I don't run out of steam near the end.
I will most likely still do a light morning run tomorrow (provided my back and upper body will allow me after my brick wall-smashing fun), but I think tomorrow night I'll gag down some Gu and try for 8-10 miles. Looking forward to it :)
