That's right; you read correctly. Day 5. Where are Days 3 and 4, you ask? I slacked. There. I said it. Between issues at work and the nor'easter floating over New England that dumped buckets of rain on us all week, running in flooded streets on Wednesday and Thursday just didn't seem too appealing. Neither did the treadmill.
Oh well. Dust off and get back on, right?
So, the plan had been:
Schedule for Wednesday, Week -16 = 4 miles (incl. 2-mile tempo run).
Schedule for Thursday, Week -16 = 4 miles.
Schedule for Friday, Week -16 = OFF.
Reality:
Actual for Wednesday, Week -16 = OFF.
Actual for Thursday, Week -16 = OFF.
Actual for Friday, Week -16 = 3.5 miles (incl. 1.5-mile tempo run) in 31:25.
Not my best these past few days. Still feeling a bit stiff and definitely low on motivation. I have to remind myself that I ran well at the half-marathon this past May, and I know I have it in me to go further and do better. There's plenty of time before October, and I just need to keep going. It's hard to do so when I feel the stress of so many other unrelated things, but I need to transfer that stress into my running and use it as an outlet.
Coming up next = 8 miles.
Dear God. I haven't run more than 5 since the half back in May. I'm going to take a stab at it though and fuel properly before and hydrate during and everything that I need to get through it. It'll be like training for running through fatigue :)
